A 92-year-old woman has died months after a BMW crashed into her home. Edna Kearns suffered serious leg injuries in the collision on White Horse Grove, Westhoughton, on November 28 2021.
Edna was discharged from hospital earlier this year but died at Royal Bolton Hospital last Friday (April 8). A post mortem is set to take place this week to establish a cause of death, her granddaughter Lesley Lister confirmed.
Paying tribute to her grandma, Lesley told the Manchester Evening News : "Grandma was a very special lady, she was a fighter till the very end. We'll never forget her witty sense of humour she kept till the very end.

"Her presence is already greatly missed by all the family. It's left a huge hole in our hearts."

Michael Vose, 39, of Mount Pleasant Avenue, St Helens, is set to be sentenced at Bolton Crown Court, on May 3, after pleading guilty to seriously injuring Edna Kearns by dangerous driving and causing criminal damage to her home. Vose will also be sentenced for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and damaging property, in relation to a separate incident on the same day.
