Tributes have been paid after a young man died on train tracks in Warrington.

British Transport Police confirmed a man in his 20s sadly died yesterday in Bewsey and Whitecross.

The force were called to the line at about 1.50pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

On Thursday officers said the death is currently being treated as unexplained and police are working to establish the circumstances behind the incident.

The man's family have also been informed, police added.

After the man's death was reported people rushed to offer their condolences to him and his family.

Rose Rose wrote on Facebook: " RIP to this Gentleman and deepest sympathies to his family and friends."

Glenys Halpin added: "Very sad, RIP."

And Eileen Kenwright said: "Bless them".
