Tributes to man, 52, found dead in house after 999 call

Tributes have been paid for a 52-year-old man who was found dead at a property in Dovecot.

A police investigation was launched today as officers appeal for information after they were called to Haydn Road in the early hours of Monday.

The force said officers were called after the North West Ambulance Service alerted them.

Messages of sympathy and condolence have poured in for the man's family.

One person simply wrote: "Miss you forever."

Heather Checko wrote: "Still can't believe it. Rip fella. So sad."

Shirley Foy said: "So sad this, thinking of his family x"

Catherine Pye wrote: "So very sad, God bless him and his family. RIP xx"

Kathleen Barton added: "Rest in peace."

And Jan Sime said, simply: "Heartbreaking."

Police said the man's family were informed and liaison officers are now providing them with specialist support, police said.

The force said no cause of death has been established yet and a post-mortem will be carried out.

Officers remained at the scene today carrying out house-to-house enquiries and have urged anyone with any information to contact them.

A spokesman for the force said: "Detectives are investigating the unexplained death of a 52-year-old man at a house in Dovecot in the early hours of today (Monday 9 November).

"Officers arrived at the address on Haydn Road after the North West Ambulance Service attended following a call to emergency services.

"Paramedics sadly pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

"His family has been informed and Family Liaison Officers are providing them with specialist support.

"A Home Office post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
