Tributes to 'Lord Pendlebury' left at scene after dog walker found dead body in woodland

Tributes have been left to "Lord Pendlebury" at the scene where a dog walker found a man dead in a woodland.

Emergency services were called to Vyner Road North, in Prenton, on Wednesday after the tragic discovery was made at Bidston Hill.

Police cordoned off the area before launching an investigation into the death of the man who has been named locally as 39-year-old Andrew Pendlebury.

It is believed that Andrew's family and next of kin were made aware shortly after the body was discovered and have since left moving floral tributes and touching notes amongst the trees.

A heart shaped balloon saying "I love you Daddy" was also placed beside a handwritten message on the ground which said "RIP Andy".

The tributes showed just how loved Andrew was by his family and close friends.

A loved one said: "To Lord Pendlebury.

"My heart will never heal from this. You were my penguin. There is never going to be another like you.
