Tributes to Glasgow teenager found dead outside Springburn flats

Tributes have been paid to a Glasgow teenager who was found dead outside a block of flats in Springburn.

Emergency services raced to Viewpoint Place in the north of the city at 3am on Monday morning, however, police confirmed a 19-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has now been named locally as former Cleveden Secondary School pupil Nathan Thomas.

Heartbroken friends and family have since taken to social media to pay tribute to Nathan, with one friend writing: "Honestly so in shock. I can’t put it into words. Rest in peace Nathan Thomas.

"We shared so many good memories and you were one of the kindest, purest souls I have ever known.

"I hope you’re resting peacefully."

Brad added: "Rest in peace Nathan Thomas.

"Can't process this news or my words. Love you always."

Catherine Murray wrote: "Heartbreaking.

"He was so young. Thinking of you all at this terrible time."

Megan Sullivan said: "Can't believe this. How me and Nathan were close in school and now found out this happened.

"This is upsetting. Sending my love and prayers."

Irene Buckley added: "I am so sorry to hear this.

"He always came across as a lovely guy."

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
