A nurse who tragically died has been described as a 'gentle giant' by his devastated colleagues.
John Harmon, known to friends and family as Jay or Harmo, sadly died on Sunday, August 18.
The circumstances surrounding his death are currently not known.
The 34-year-old was a staff nurse at Aintree Hospital and was "amazing to all of his patients" said his heartbroken colleagues.
In a tribute written on behalf of staff on Ward 21 Amy Maddox told the ECHO how the dad had been working as a nurse for 10 years and had only recently completed a course to train students in nursing.

She added: "All of the staff on ward 21 and in Aintree Hospital are devastated.
"John was our hilarious, fun, caring, gentle giant who was an amazing nurse to all of his patients.
"An absolute character who had time for anyone.
"He has helped so many students, staff, families and patients in his nursing career and would have patients in stitches laughing, even at their lowest.
"He loved his job and he loved life.
"John was also a true gent, a friend and a family man who loved his baby son dearly.
"I can speak on behalf of all of Aintree Hospital when I say we have truly lost an amazing colleague and friend who will be sorely missed.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with johns family at this difficult time."
A spokesperson for Aintree University Hospital also said: “John was a well-liked member of the nursing team. We have offered sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.
Following the dad-of-one's death a Crowdfunding page was set up by friends to support John's parents Joan and Paddy.
Tributes on the page described John, who studied adult nursing at Liverpool John Moores University , as a "lovely lad" with one mourner writing how a "very bright light had gone out" following his death.
John Winstanley wrote: "Worked with John, he would have the most miserable man in the world crying with laughter within two minutes of meeting him.
"One very bright light has gone out in this world.
"Will be greatly missed."
Sarah Campbell wrote: "John was such a lovely lad, always had a smile and a joke for everyone.
"Loved the banter and was a brilliant nurse to work alongside, thinking off John's family and his little boy."
Eileen Rogers said: "I have known John since he was a little kid, this has broken my heart, heaven has gained an angel and he will be one of the best angels up there.
"Gone but will never be forgotten- RIP John."
