The tribute said: “Chris, known to most people as ‘Monty’, was my husband, my best friend and my soul mate.

“I cannot tell you how much of an amazing and brilliant person he was.

“He was a son, brother, and most of all father to our two beautiful children and life will never be the same without him.

“He had so many friends and people around that loved him. His passions were his running and hiking and he was such a fit man. He was my rock and the person I turned to as he just always knew what to do.

“I will somehow have to find the strength to continue on without him.

“Finally, as a family we would like to pass our heartfelt thanks to all the emergency services who attended the scene and tried to help.”

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident which happened at the junction of Kingsway and Carmarthen Road in Fforestfach, Swansea.

Officers are keen to speak to any witnesses who may have travelled through the area in the minutes after the collision, or witnesses to the manner of driving of a black Vauxhall Insignia.

If anyone has any information, or has dash cam footage that may assist the investigation, please contact police by private message on social media, email SWP101@south-wales.police.uk or phone 101 quoting reference 2100269726.
