Tributes to 'devoted husband, father and grandfather' who died falling on bus stairs

A man who died after falling on the stairs of a bus in Lancashire has been named.

The family of Reverend Michael Buckley have paid to tribute to the "devoted husband, father and grandfather".

Rev Buckley, 70, died from his injuries after falling on a bus from Longridge to Preston on the morning of December 10 last year.

He suffered a head injury and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment but sadly died just over a week later.

In a tribute, Rev Buckley’s family said: “Michael Buckley was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

“A retired clergyman, he was an active member of St Michael's Grimsargh and St Lawrence with St Paul Longridge, and a lifelong supporter of Southport Football Club.”

Police are continuing to investigate his death and have asked anyone with information to contact Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log reference 0461 of December 10.
