Tributes to 'caring' East Lothian schoolgirl who died after being hit by train

The family of an East Lothian schoolgirl who died after being hit by a train have paid tribute to a 'caring and bubbly girl'.

Kaydee-Louise Lucas, 15, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene on the tracks near Dunbar on October 25 after being struck by a train, with the line being closed for several hours afterwards.

The incident occurred shortly before 10pm and is not being treated as suspicious by officers.

British Transport Police have now confirmed Kaydee-Louise's identify and shared a statement released by her family.

Her sister said: "Kaydee was a loving sister, auntie and niece who will live in our hearts forever. We will never forget our beautiful, caring and bubbly girl.

"Shine bright like a diamond our special girl. Always loved, never forgotten."

Kaydee-Louise's family also released a photo of the 15-year-old and asked for privacy while they deal with the tragic loss.
