Tributes to 'beloved' four-year-old boy with 'beautiful smile' killed in tragic crash

A "beloved grandson, son and nephew" with "beautiful smile" killed in tragic crash has been identified as Isaac Matthew Crofts.

Isaac was killed in the tragedy that took pace at around 2pm on Friday on Grampian Road in Skelton - after horrified locals desperately trying to save the boy.

Cleveland Police force have said his family are devastated by his death and have asked for privacy as they begin to grieve the unimaginable loss of a child.

Police officers are supporting the family at this very sad time.

Hundreds of messages of support have since been posted on social media, with one person saying: "Bless his little heart and his family must be going through such a sad time just can’t imagine.

"I hope your riding rainbows little one. Much love to all family members."

Another said: "Absolutely heart breaking, sending much love to the family at this very sad time."

"RIP little one, playing now with Angels," one person wrote.

"Sending much love and many prayers of comfort to his family.

"From a mother who knows the pain of losing a child, God Bless you all."

Both Cleveland Police and The Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) attended the tragedy on Grampian Road on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the GNAAS said: "Our critical care team were activated at 2.10pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Skelton.

"After arriving on scene our paramedic and doctor team assessed and treated a patient."

"The patient was taken to hospital by a North East Ambulance Service road crew."

A spokesperson from Cleveland Police said: "Police would again like to thank the members of the public who assisted at the scene.

"We understand this tragic incident will have an impact on many people in the Skelton community."
