Tributes pour in Jim Gavin after he steps down as Dublin football manager

Jim Gavin has been hailed as the greatest manager of all time after stepping down as the Dublin football boss today.

The Clondalkin man guided his county to a historic fifth successive All-Ireland this year with victory over Kerry in a final replay.

Altogether he masterminded the Dubs to six All-Irelands, seven Leinster titles and five National league titles.

In 48 championship matches since his first campaign in 2013, Dublin won 44 of them, drawing three and losing only one - a 2014 All-Ireland semi-final to Donegal.

And he since told Dublin GAA this morning that he would be stepping down from role, he has praised as one of the greats from all corners of the island:
