Tributes pour in for young Irishman who tragically died after being kicked by horse

Tributes have been pouring in for a 23-year-old man who died after being kicked by a horse.

Dylan Boggan, from south Wexford, had been working with the animal when it lashed out at 1.30pm on Tuesday.

He suffered the fatal injuries while working at a stable.

The incident took place in Fethard-on-Sea and it is understood immediately after he was kicked he was brought by car to a local doctor’s surgery.

Dylan’s condition deteriorated and the National Ambulance Service rushed to area and treated him.

He was airlifted by the Rescue 117 helicopter to Cork University Hospital. Jim Codd, a local councillor and and former teacher of Dylan’s said: “I can safely say he never did anyone any harm in his life.”

Independent Councillor Ger Carthy, an Ambulance Paramedic Officer for the Wexford Region, was present at the scene.

He said: “This really is a tragedy of unspeakable proportions to lose a man so young.”

Dylan is survived by his parents Sanrina and David, and younger brothers Aaron and Jordan.

He will be laid to rest by his heartbroken family at a funeral mass on Friday.

A post on RIP.ie reads; "Funeral Mass on Friday at 12 noon in St. David’s Church, Mulrankin, burial afterwards in Mayglass Cemetery.

"Due to Covid restrictions a car radio system will be in operation for the duration of the funeral."
