Tributes have been pouring in for well-known Irish restaurateur and businessman Derek Ryan following his death.

Mr Ryan passed away at St Vincent's University Hospital on on February 10.

His funeral takes place today, and all of Yamamori's locations will close for the day due to the bereavement.

A post on Yamamori's Instagram from last night reads: "Dear all, Tomorrow all Yamamori restaurants will be closed due to family bereavement. We will be back on business as usual, from Wednesday."

Mr Ryan founded the Yamamori chain in Dublin in the 1990s, after working as a carpenter running a waste company.

The first Yamamori restaurant was opened on George’s Street.

Since the news of his passing on Thursday, February 10, hundreds of people have been sending their condolences to the family of the ‘hard-working’ and ‘kind’ businessman.

One person wrote: “Derek was one of the nicest people I ever worked for.
