Tributes are pouring in for one of Scotland's leading former child protection officers who has died.
Viv Boyle, retired Lead Child Protection Officer for Fife Council, sadly passed away this month.
News of the highly-respected CPS worker's death was announced formally by Fife Police Division on Tuesday.
The mum-of-one, from Edinburgh, was hailed by former colleagues as 'passionate about her role' and someone whose 'desire to help others' was 'unquestionable'.
A spokesperson from Fife Police Division said: "It is with great sadness that I inform you of the recent death of Viv Boyle; a highly respected friend and colleague to many within Fife Division and beyond.
"Viv is survived by her daughter, Mhairi, and her sad passing is a great loss to all who knew and worked with her.
"Viv was incredibly passionate about her role as Lead Child Protection Officer and her knowledge, expertise and unquestionable desire to help others was renowned.
"Our thoughts are very much with her daughter, Mhairi at this time."
The tragic news sparked a flood of tributes to Viv online.
Those who knew Viv dubbed her 'one in a million' and a 'true hero' for Scots kids.
One wrote: "What a true hero to many parents etc who came across her.
R.I.P one in a million, a true hero."
Another added: "A very passionate lady who helped others by going above and beyond throughout her career.
"Rest easy, Viv."
A third added: "She was very well respected for her passion and leadership in protecting children within Fife and beyond."
Another wrote: "Viv was an extremely passionate individual who wanted to ensure that the world was a better place for all children."
