Tributes are pouring in for a Fife man after a body was found on a farm.
Police confirmed on Sunday that the body of a 43-year-old man had been found on the grounds of Cardenbarns Farm in Cardenden on Saturday morning.
The man has been named locally as Darren McIntyre.
Darren, from Kirckcaldy, was reported missing after he walked out of the town's Victoria Hospital at around 2am on New Year's Day.
The tragic news has sparked an outpouring of tributes from locals to Darren.
'Heartbroken' loved ones as a 'lovely guy' who has 'left a massive space in their hearts'.
One wrote: "Heartbreaking.
"My thoughts are with the family.
"R.I.P Darren."
Another added: "So sad to hear this news.
"I first met Darren through my work.
"A lovely guy who always had a smile."
A third posted: "Darren McIntyre, you have left a massive space in our hearts."
One former colleague commented: "RIP, Darren.
"It was a pleasure to work with you, pal."
Police confirmed the tragic discovery on Sunday.
Officers say the death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
Enquiries are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police in Fife can confirm that the body of a 43-year old man was found on a track within the grounds of Cardenbarns Farm around 10.30am on Saturday, 2 January 2.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.”
