He passed away on Saturday in Tallaght Hospital just after 1pm, Dublin Live reports.

Paddy - who was an undertaker at Rom Massey's chain of funeral homes- marched in the parade for 49 years straight but was unable to attend the celebrations this year.

He was highly regarded in South Dublin and even picked up a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tallaght Person of the Year Awards in 2016.

Paddy's son, Graham took to Facebook to share the sad news of his passing.
