Tributes have poured in for a dad killed in a stabbing in Dublin.
Derek Reddin, 31, has been described as a "happy" person who was an active volunteer who help the poor.
The dad-of-two tragically died after an apparent stabbing incident in Loughlinstown at around midnight on Monday.
His heartbroken cousin Ellen Reddin-fox said: "The family are deeply saddened by the loss.
"His parents are still on holidays, it is so heartbreaking and we are still in shock and mourning."
It's believed Derek worked with the group You're Not Alone, which offers help to the homeless in Dublin.
One Facebook user said: "So sad a man who was doing good work helping the poor. Rest in peace."
Another added: "Such a terrible tragedy. May Derek rest in peace. Sincere sympathy to his family and loved one."
A third said: "My heart goes out to his family and those who’s lives he touched.
"Tragic that a life should be taken when doing something to help those less fortunate."
A fourth said: "We're all going to miss the happy chappy Derek. Still can't believe will never see him again."
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident which happened at Loughlinstown Drive.
The pair, who are in their 30s, have been detained at Shankhill Garda Station on Tuesday as forensic examinations were being carried out at the scene.
Armed gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene after midnight but the victim was pronounced dead.
A source told the Irish Mirror it's understood the stabbing occurred after a dispute between four locals. It's believed one of the victim's friends alerted gardai.
Mr Reddin's body was removed to Dublin City Morgue on Tuesday afternoon.
Assistant State Pathologist Dr Bolster is due to carry out a post-mortem this afternoon.
Gardai are appealing for people in the vicinity of Loughlinstown Drive between 11.30pm and 12.15am to come forward.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are continuing to question two men in their 30s arrested as part of the investigation. They are currently detained at Shankill Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"Gardaí are also appealing to motorists with dash cam footage to make it available to the investigating team.
