The family of a caring father who tragically died after contracting Covid-19 have paid an emotional tribute, stating that he had 'nothing but love and kindness in his heart'.
Much-loved member of the community Sheikh Hameed, aged 62, died after failing to recover from the virus on December 27.
The father-of-four, from Handsworth, worked in insurance, was a member of the Labour party and was well-known in the area for his sense of humour and caring nature, Birmingham Live reports.
His daughter Sana Hameed, 33, said: "He was very kind-hearted. He was always willing to help others, they all came to him for advice.
"He was a really nice family man - dedicated. Young, old, they all loved him.
"He used to attend Labour party meetings. He played badminton every single week since the 1980s - he was an all-rounder."
Miss Hameed said her dad and mum Riffat Hameed, also 62., had been married for 40-years.
A funeral date is yet to be set.
She added: "People are saying they cannot believe it. He was always on hand to help day and night. He actually took the time to talk."
Dozens of people have taken to social media to pay tribute to Mr Hameed.
Radley Russell posted on Facebook : "Keeping you all in my prayers."
Nasir Ahmad said: "Shocking news. May Allah SWT bless him. He was a lovely chap and had a really wonderful sense of humour. He will be missed."
Mohammed Zahid posted: "My most sincere condolences to both you and all your nearest and dearest. I am deeply saddened to hear this news."
