We told how Dean Lockhart was last seen in Munlochy, Ross and Cromarty, at around 9.30am on Tuesday, September 21.

Dean's brother tonight confirmed the sad news of his death on social media.

On Wednesday evening droves of loved ones paid tribute to Dean in public social media posts.

Friends and family hailed him a 'great man' and 'an absolute gent'.

One wrote: "Dean Lockhart was such a great, amazing man.

"I've been shedding countless tears for Dean hearing this awful news.

"Dean was an amazing father and an amazing cousin to talk to that would listen anytime of day.

"Rest in Peace, Dean.

"So many people love, miss and mourn for you."

Another added: "I can't even put into words how heartbroken we are for the entire Lockhart family.

"Dean Lockhart was an absolute gent, a fantastic son, brother and an amazing father."

A third posted: "Heartbreaking to hear the sad news of Dean Lockhart.

"One of life’s gentlemen too."
