There was an outpouring of sympathy after the tragic death of a woman in her 30s who fell from a Liverpool flyover.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Walton, shortly before 8pm on Thursday, near to the roundabout between County Road and Rice Lane.
Today police confirmed the sad news that the woman died as a result of the fall. Her family have been informed.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a woman has died following an incident in Walton yesterday evening.
"At 7pm, reports were received of a woman in her 30s being found seriously injured, having fallen from the Rice Lane flyover.
"She was taken to hospital by ambulance and was sadly pronounced deceased."
