The talented actress passed away aged 30 after a battle with cancer.
The former boxing world champion’s family released a statement confirming the news.
It said: “It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beautiful daughter and sister, Danika “Nika” McGuigan.
“After a brief but brave battle against cancer, Nika passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday, July 23, surrounded by her loving family.
“As a family we are devastated and ask for complete privacy during this difficult period to allow us to grieve for our Nika.”
Various members of the showbiz and sporting worlds have been taking to social media to pay their respects to the late actress.
Actress Amy Huberman said: "Deeply shocked and saddened at the devastating news about the talented, fantastic, shining Nika McGuigan.
"Heartbroken for all her family and friends. Rest In Peace Nika."
TV personality Maia Dunphy tweeted: "So terribly sorry to hear this awful news. Thinking of her lovely family."
Film producer Liam Ryan said: "Shocked to hear about sudden passing of Nika McGuigan - she was a DIFF Discovery Nominee a few years back & had a great career ahead especially after Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope.
"Between losing herself & Karl Shiels its been a sad month for the Industry."
Boxer Conrad Cummings added: "Deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of Nika McGuigan, condolences to all the McGuigan family.
