Tributes pour in after Dublin boy Oscar Keogh passes away

Tributes have been pouring in after a young boy who captured the nation's heart passed away following a battle with cancer.

Oscar Keogh has been a regular feature in Dublin Live over the past two years - and sadly his parents Yavanna and Lar have announced the news they've been dreading.

The 5-year-old had been battling an aggressive brain tumour and had previously made headlines after receiving thousands of birthday cards last year.

At the time his parents feared he wouldn't live to see his fifth birthday, but last month he soldiered on and hit the big five.

Sadly his fifth proved to be his last as Yavanna, who runs the blog TheMakeUpMonster, announced the heartbreaking news earlier on Tuesday evening.

She wrote: "Our magical Oscar passed away yesterday peacefully. Our hearts are completely broken."

Tributes have been flooding in in their hundreds as many had been following Oscar's journey through the blog.

One wrote: "I'm really really sorry to read this. My thoughts are with you. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Another said: "I’m so so sorry that you’ve lost your beautiful boy. There is no sense to that. You’ll be in my thoughts."

Another one wrote: "I'm gutted to read this. Coladh sámh beautiful Oscar. You two are the most wonderful and loving parents. I'm heartbroken for you. Sending love and energy your way. x"
