Tributes paid to tragic mum-of-two Alison Armstrong Grimes who died in horror Wexford crash

Tributes have been pouring in for a mum-of-two who tragically died after a horror crash in Co Wexford.

Alison Armstrong Grimes was rushed to Wexford General Hospital on Tuesday afternoon following a collision between two cars on the R741, near Oulart, but died a short time later.

Originally from Dublin, Alison, who was aged in her 50s, lived in the Gorey area and was a popular staff member at Tesco Gorey.

Heartbroken friends, work colleagues and customers took to social media on Tuesday night to pay tribute after her sudden passing.

One pal posted: "Today was a day none of us will ever forget, we stood in shock not believing the news we were to get.

"We are not just colleagues for we are family & friends, And a part of all our hearts are broken that no amount of time will mend.

"Tonight the lights flickered then the entire county went black, a few of us stood at checkouts looked up through tears and said that's you Ali having the crack.

"Christ we will miss you it's not going to be the same, For you were the life & soul of the place keeping so many of us sane.

"My last chat with you a few days ago was you giving me advice, telling me to go grab that damn happiness and get living my life.

"I'm honoured to have known you and your loud infectious laugh, you were one in a million and I am so sad by your depart.

"RIP Alison you beautiful soulful lady x."

Two men and another woman were also injured in the collision and taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardai in Enniscorthy are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving two vehicles, which occurred at Kilnamanagh, Oulart, Co Wexford, on 17 September, at approximately 1.30pm.

"A female in her 50s was taken to Wexford General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

"Two males and a female were also taken to Wexford General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"Forensic Collision Investigators attended the scene. The road has since re-opened.

"Gardai are appealing for anyone who travelled the road at the time of the collision, and who may have dash cam footage, to contact Gardaí in Enniscorthy on 053 9233 534, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
