Tributes paid to tragic Donegal man Patrick McGinty after death in quad bike crash

Tributes have been paid to a tragic Donegal man after his death in a quad bike crash.

Patrick McGinty, who was in his 40s, died an accident near Mountcharles on Sunday night around 7pm.

Mr McGinty suffered major head injuries after he fell from the bike and was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital where he was being treated.

He was transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin but sadly passed away as a result of his injuries.

No other vehicles were involved and gardai are investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Tributes were paid to the tragic biker online, with one local writing: "RIP Patrick".

Another added: "A quiet lovely unassuming man. My condolences to you and all extended family and friends. May Patrick rest in peace.”

A third said: "God bless him and his family".

A Garda spokesman said: “Gardai in Donegal are investigating a single vehicle, fatal road traffic collision involving a quad bike.

“The driver of the quad, a man in his 40s, sustained serious head injuries when he came off the bike while travelling on a local road at Mullinboys near Mountcharles at approximately 7pm.”
