Tributes have been paid to a man whose body was found in a city centre street.

Tragic Randell Sellars, 42, was discovered in Upper Craigs, near to the junction with Cameronian Street, at around 5.45am on Wednesday.

Police closed the street to carry out investigations but they say the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Mr Sellars has been described as “the best dad and an even better grandad”.

Those who knew him offered their condolences to his family on social media.

One pal said: “You may be gone now but I will never forget our time together mate.”

Witnesses say that a police presence remained in the Upper Craigs area for a number of hours on Wednesday.

One person noted that officers were “standing guard” and at around 8.15am were moving pedestrians on.

They said: “There was a van stopping traffic going down the road there was quite a lot of police down there and it was all cordoned off.

“When I walked back the way there was police guarding the street.”
