Tributes paid to 'special angel' after unexpected death of Irish 15-year-old

Tributes have been paid to a highly talented teenager who died unexpectedly this week.

15-year-old Sarah Power from Foxford, Co Mayo sadly died suddenly on Sunday.

The popular young girl attended St Joseph's Secondary School in Foxford and was one of three siblings.

A spokesperson for the school said: "Our deepest sympathies to Sarah's family.

"We have lost a wonderful talented student who will be greatly missed by all at St Jospehs.

"You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. May Sarah rest in peace."

Canteen staff at the school also paid a special tribute to the "special angel".

They added: "We extend our deepest sympathies to you Deirdre, Joe, Caleb and Aaron at this most difficult time.

"Heaven has truly gained a special angel with Sarah. Forever in our thoughts."

A funeral is set to take place on Wednesday morning followed by cremation.

Due to Government guidelines the funeral will be for family and friends only.

A post on RIP.ie reads: "The death has occurred unexpectedly of Sarah Power aged 15 of Cuingbeg, Foxford and formerly of Carramore, Killasser and Lisacul, Ballaghaderreen.

"Sarah loving daughter of Deirdre Snoek and Joseph Power (Carrick-on-Suir) and dear sister of Caleb and Aaron and her beloved granddaughter of Mary Snoek and Anna Power, loving niece of her aunt Louise and uncle Anthony, will be dearly missed by her relatives and her circle of friends."
