Tributes paid to 'quiet and pleasant' man after body found at Scots house

Tributes have been paid to a 'quiet and pleasant' man after a body was discovered at a Scots house.

The body of a man, named locally as Jim Johnston, was discovered after police were alerted to a person seriously injured in an 'altercation' at a property in Drumpark Avenue, Bo'ness, at around 2pm on Saturday April 17.

Officers attended the scene, but sadly the 39-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 35-year-old male has since been arrested and charged in connection with the death.

He is due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Monday.

One neighbour, who didn't want to be named, told the Record: "Jim just moved into the block a few months ago, you didn't really see him much.

"He was a quiet guy and appeared to keep himself to himself.

"You'd see him go in and out of the flat with people sometimes, but other than that, I didn't know much about him.

"He was always pleasant to me and said hello in the passing."

Forensic teams were also spotted examining a taxi in nearby Livingstone Drive.

It follows an incident in Grangemouth on Saturday, when police were called to reports of concern for a person.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "A 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 39-year-old man in Bo’ness on Saturday, 17 April, 2021.
