'One in a million' mum dies after being hit by car

The family of a woman who died after being hit by a car have paid tribute to a "beautiful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend to many". Catherine Bradford, 52, from Pentrebach, died following a fatal road traffic collision in High Street, Dowlais, at around 5.50pm on Monday, September 19.

Despite attempts by the public and emergency services to save her life Ms Bradford was pronounced dead at the scene. In a touching tribute her family said: "Our beautiful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend to many, taken from us too soon. A one in a million woman who touched so many with her love for life, kind-natured heart, and pure soul. We’d like to also give our deepest thanks to the members of the public and emergency services who tried their best to save her.”

A 29-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released under investigation.
