Tributes paid to missing teenager Christopher McGee after body of 17-year-old found in Airdrie

Tributes have been paid to a popular teenager found dead days after being reported missing.

Christopher McGee disappeared from Chapelhall on Monday wearing just a t-shirt and jogging trousers.

Police have said that the body of a 17-year-old man was found on Thursday.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 3.25pm on Thursday, 6 August, officers were called to a wooded area near Monks Road, Airdrie where a 17-year-old man was found dead.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

Tributes have been paid to the popular teenager on social media.

Christopher's brother Brenden said he was 'lost for words' over the death.

He added: "RIP Brother lost for words, don’t have a clue what am going to do without you man, a love you so so much man. Aww man a would do anything for 5 mins with u again man, never felt pain like this in my life, GBNF."

Angela Taylor commented: "RIP Christopher Mcgee. You were one in a million, thanks for always being there when a needed someone to talk to. Fly high angel you’ll be missed. Forever young."

Margaret Cameron said: "Young life gone too soon fly high Christopher."

Over £1,176 has been raised as part of a fundraiser to give Christopher the 'best send off ever'.
