Tributes paid to man, 35, who died after forklift truck accident

Company bosses have paid tribute to an employee who died following an accident while driving a forklift truck in Newark.

Police confirmed a 35-year-old man died following an incident, in Telford Drive, at 9.40am on Tuesday, June 4.

The man, who police had originally said was 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The company he worked for, called The Barcode Warehouse, paid tribute to the man and his family in a statement.

A spokesman for The Barcode Warehouse said: "We are deeply saddened to confirm the death of an employee at our Newark facility.

"Our immediate thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends.

"Our main priority is to offer them – and also staff – our full support at what is an extremely distressing time.

"We are working closely with both the police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as they jointly consider the exact circumstances of the incident.

"We are therefore unable to comment any further at this time."
