Tributes paid to 'lovely young boy' after teen's body pulled from Scots canal

Tributes have been paid to a Scots boy after a body was pulled from a canal in Clydebank.

The 17-year-old, named locally as Scott Dorrington, was recovered from a canal near Kirkwood Avenue around 9.30am on Friday May 28.

Emergency services raced to the scene after the alarm was raised.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Gut-wrenching tributes to the 'lovely young boy' have poured in online,with well-wishers sending their condolences to his loved ones.

One person wrote: "I love you my my baby."

While another said: "So sad, what a lovely young boy.

"Thoughts go out to his family and friends."

And a third added: "Rest in peace, taken far too soon x"

A user also said: "So heartbreaking. Rip Scott."

They were joined by a person who commented: "RIP Scott Dorrington, taken way too soon."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland can confirm that a body of a 17-year-old man was recovered from a canal near Kirkwood Avenue, Clydebank around 9.30am on Friday, 28 May, 2021.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
