The family of a 16-year-old boy who was killed after being knocked off his bike have paid tribute to the 'lovely' teenager.
Joshua Fletcher, who had just started studying mechanics at Nash College, was involved in a collision as he was cycling home from college on Friday afternoon.
The incident happened near the SDR bridge and the Blaina Wharf Pub in Newport.
A witness told the family Joshua was thrown 10ft in the air and that they've thanked the man who stayed with him until the emergency services came.
Joshua, who previously attended Duffryn High School, was travelling by bicycle when he was involved in a collision with a gunmetal grey Ford Focus on Friday.
The driver of the Focus, a 28-year-old man from the Rhondda Cynon Taf area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody, Gwent Police confirmed.
Officers are investigating and appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
The 16-year-old, who played for Pill Harriers RFC, has been described by his family described him as a "lovely lad" who was "crazy about cars and loved his rugby".
Joshua's uncle, Simon Tovey, said: "He always had a smile whenever you saw him, would do anything for anyone.
"He was a lovely lad and always wanted to make people happy.
"He had just started college a month ago studying mechanics he was crazy about cars, he loved his rugby; he played for Pill Harriers."
Mr Tovey said that Joshua "loved his family" before adding "this is a massive loss for all of us."
Pill Harriers RFC also paid tribute to Joshua, writing on social media: "Yesterday we received the devastating news that one of our aspiring Harriers was taken way too young at the age of just 16.
"Josh was a talented, polite and friendly young man who was loved by us all at the club, fly high mate.
"Our are thoughts are with the family, anything we can do to help please let us know."
Joshua's auntie and uncle, Samantha Fletcher and Simon Tovey, have started a fundraising page to help the family cover funeral costs.
