A mother-of-two who was tragically killed in a horror hit-and-run has been named locally as Ann Bathe.
The 48-year-old was found on Thomas Street with serious leg injuries following the shocking incident in Newbridge, Kildare on Monday.
Sadly, Ann was rushed to Naas General Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later with one man arrested in connection with the collision.
Tributes have been paid to the popular and 'great' woman.
Gardai believe she was making her way home when she was mowed down.
Ann is originally from Kilcullen in the county and a mum to two sons who are understood to be adults now, Dublin Live reports.

Her father Christy said: "We lost another daughter, Susan, many years ago. She had a rare illness and was buried in her communion dress. And my wife Patricia died seven years ago.
He told the Irish Independent: “My heart is broken again. I was only talking to Ann on the phone last week. We share the same birthday, November 2, and she rang to wish me a happy birthday.
“When we were saying goodbye I told her to mind herself. Ann was a birthday present from Patricia the day she was born."
Christy told how Ann recovered from a brain hemorrhage in 2002.
He added: "It was a very difficult time for us all, and it changed Ann’s personality but she remained thoughtful. She was a great girl.
“I don’t know what happened exactly. They say it was a hit-and-run. I suppose we will have to wait for the results of the post mortem for more details.
"Whoever it was, if they have any conscience they should go to gardaí and explain what happened."
The arrested man, in his 50s, is currently being quizzed at Kildare Garda Station.
Gardai have once again called for any witnesses to come forward.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí investigating a suspected fatal hit and run road traffic collision that occurred in Newbridge, County Kildare on Monday, 9th November, 2020, have arrested a man in his 50s in connection with this incident.
"The man is currently detained at Kildare Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
"Investigations are ongoing.
"Gardaí at Newbridge are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Gardaí.
