Tributes have been paid to a lifelong Celtic fan who died after falling ill during Saturday's game.
Edward Stanton, 82, was watching his beloved Hoops play Preston in a pre-season friendly at Celtic Park when he took ill.
Sadly, he passed away yesterday morning.
Tributes to the "great guy" and "character" have came flooding in on social media, as fans shared their memories of Edward.
He was a member of the Celtic Disabled Supporters Association and they took to Twitter to pay tribute to him.
A statement from the group read: "One of our members Edward Stanton took ill at yesterday's game and sadly passed away this morning.
"Edward was 82 years old and a character..our thoughts are with his family and PA Jim. R.I.P EDWARD."
Many who knew the diehard Celtic fan also recalled him fondly on social media.
One said: "Very sad to hear this, spent many a great night in his company in Finnegans/Failte back in the day. Sleep easy Eddie."
Another wrote: "Very sad indeed, knew Eddie for years, spent many nights in his company. RIP."
One friend added: "Sad news, a great guy."
Whilst another well-wisher wrote: "Rip Eddie, hope the Guinness is good wherever you are."
