Tributes paid to 'gentle husband and soulmate' who died in Llandeilo motorbike crash

A wife has paid tribute to her “best friend and soulmate” who died in a motorcycle crash in Carmarthenshire.

Iwan Lloyd Jones, who was 60, was killed in a collision which happened on the A40 near Llandeilo two weeks ago.

The crash, involving a Triumph Daytona motorcycle and a Citroen Xsara, occurred at the junction with the old Carmarthen Road, on the outskirts of Llandeilo, at around 2.30pm on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 9.

Mr Jones’s wife said that he will leave a big void in her life and that he was more than just a husband.

“Iwan was gentle, generous and a thoughtful, loving husband,” said Mandy Jones.

“He wasn’t just my husband, he was my best friend and my soulmate. He has left a big hole in my heart but I take comfort in knowing that he will always be around me to protect and look after me. He will be deeply missed by all.

“Rest in peace cariad bach, cysga’n dawel. Caru ti.”

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the fatal crash, which closed a six-mile stretch of the A40 between Llandeilo and Dryslwyn for several hours.

A spokesman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “If anyone witnessed this collision or has any dashcam footage, please contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit quoting incident ref 187 of September 9.”

Any information about the crash can be reported by e-mailing contactcentre@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101.
