Tributes paid to 'funny and kind' father-of-three killed in crash with lorry

Tributes have been paid to a father-of-three who died in a crash in Swansea.

South Wales Police named the man who died in a collision in Landore on Friday, May 1, as Dean Workman. The 46-year-old was driving a blue Toyota C-HR when it collided with a stationary white Iveco lorry on Neath Road.

He was from the Cymmer area of Neath Port Talbot and is survived by his mother, Norma, and his three boys, Scott, Tyrese and Adam. In a tribute, his family said Mr Workman "loved his sons dearly" and added: "Dean worked in the security industry before re-training to be an electrician which took him around the country.

"As a staff sergeant in the Territorial Army, he also instructed cadets, which he loved doing. He loved to be with his family and friends. He had a passion for nice cars and enjoyed his hobby, shooting at the range. He lived life to the full, was funny, kind and would help anyone. He will be sorely missed by them, and all of his friends and work colleagues.”

Officers are continuing their appeal for witnesses who might have seen, or have dash cam footage, of the blue Toyota prior to the collision.
