Tributes paid to dad-of-two biker who died in New Year's Eve crash

Tributes have been paid to a 'kind-hearted' biker who died in a crash on New Year's Eve in Stockport.

Marc Waterworth, from Whitefield, lost his life after his bike crashed with a BMW 3 Series on the A6 in Shaw Heath.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing death by driving without due care and attention.

She has been released under investigation.

Police said the crash happened at about 7.50pm after the BMW turned right from Wellington Road South onto Longshut Lane.

Tributes have been paid to Marc, who worked as a plant operator.

His next of kin have been informed. They are being supported by specialist officers.

Natalie Mcintosh said: "No words can be said about how heartbroken I am losing one of my best friends.

"Marc - I can't my head around it, I'm never gonna see you again, my heart goes out to all your family and children.

"Love you always."

Michael Monahan, 28, said: "He was a really kind-hearted person.

"He was always there for his pals. He was a top bloke. I did a course with him and we kept in touch.

"He always made the effort with his kids."
