Tributes paid to Coatbridge man found dead in town retail park

THE heartbroken sister of a man found dead in Coatbridge’s Faraday retail park has paid tribute to her brother, saying she “can’t believe” he is gone.

Mark Fallon, 36, was discovered with serious injuries at the shopping outlet on May 19 before later being pronounced dead at the scene.

Police taped off an area near the footpath on the north-eastern side of the retail area’s car park and the cause of Mark’s death is still currently being treated as unexplained.

His devastated sister, Hazel Collins, has led tributes following Mark’s death, posting online alongside a picture of her brother: “RIP big brother; I will miss you so much.

“I can’t believe it is you that is gone. I love you so much.”

Other social media users also posted their tributes, with Jordan Devine saying: “Rest easy big man.”

Demi Lee Wardrop wrote: “RIP Faldo, what a cruel world we live in.

Meanwhile, Chloe Leckie said: “RIP Mark, such a shame.”

Responding to Mark’s death, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 7pm on Sunday, May 19, police were called after a 36-year-old man was found with serious injuries in Faraday retail park.

“Emergency services attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death which officers are currently treating as unexplained.

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
