The family of a young man found dead in Edinburgh say they have been left with a “massive hole in their hearts”.
Police are investigating the unexplained death of Callum Jackson, 23, from the Currie area after his body was found in a property on December 13.
The force said officers were called to an address on Dumdryden Gardens after receiving a “report raising concerns for a person” shortly after 10am.
Callum’s body was discovered inside the property but the circumstances surrounding his death remain unknown.
Relative Jen Jackson Robertson wrote on Facebook: “It’s with a massive hole in all our hearts that I am having to write this.
“We will miss that big cheesy grin every single day...fly high our handsome lad.”
Debbie Lockie wrote: “Goodnight gorgeous boy. Sleep tight. Always in our hearts, now and forever.”
Sending a message of support ot the family, Stacey Fry wrote: “Thoughts are with you all you should be very proud he was such a kind hearted lad always so polite and chatty! Sending hugs to you all.”
Sharon Renton Smyth said: “Heartbroken for you all at this sad time. Callum was such a gentleman always smiling and so caring love to you all.”
Callum Buchan added: “I’m so sorry for your loss. Callum never failed to put a smile on my face, a brilliant guy.”
Police Scotland said a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokeswoman said: “His death is currently being treated as unexplained and further enquiries are ongoing.”
The Crown Office confirmed it had been notified of the death.
A spokesman said: “The investigation into the death, under the direction of Scottish Fatalities Investigation Unit (SFIU), is ongoing and the family will be kept updated in relation to any significant developments.”
