Tributes paid to beloved dad who died after three-vehicle crash

A grieving family have paid a poignant tribute to a dad-of-two "gone too soon" after he was killed in a horror crash between a lorry and two cars.

The 39-year-old victim died after the Citroen car he was travelling in was involved in a crash with a grey Peugeot 3008 and a HGV on the Daresbury Expressway in Runcorn shortly after 10am on Wednesday, January 22.

Today his family released a picture and tribute as police named Gavin Attwater, a much loved dad-of-two, as the driver who died in the crash which saw emergency services put road closures in place as they worked to try and save his life.

Sadly he he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Today his family paid tribute.

The statement released via Cheshire Police said: "Gavin was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and nephew. He was lost to us all far too suddenly and far too soon."
 

Police say enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with any dashcam footage which may aid their investigation.
