Tributes have been to a Stockport mum who died suddenly last month.
Rebecca Irwin, from Edgeley, passed away at the age of just 32.
Described as ‘amazing’ by close family friend Carole Jones, £2,500 has now been raised to help cover the costs of her funeral and supporting her young son Bradley.
Paying tribute to Rebecca, also known as Bertha and Becky, Carole said: “She was such a lovely girl.
“She was amazing, so funny, and she had a really good sense of humour.
“She was really caring, she would do anything for anybody, and a brilliant mum who looked after [Bradley].
“She was so popular. It’s just so sad.”
Carole said one of Rebecca’s three sisters, Rachael, said she wanted ‘everyone to know what a beautiful sister she had’ in Bertha.
What has hit the family hardest was the shock of Rebecca’s death, she added.
“It was quite sudden,” Carole sad, who said her loved ones are still waiting for answers from a post-mortem.
In the aftermath of Rebecca’s tragic passing, friends have rallied around to support the family in helping to pay for funeral costs — and provide a future fund for Bradley, who she raised as a single parent.
“I thought doing something like this would help take the stress away,” Carole told the Manchester Evening News.
“Funerals are so expensive… it’s just to take some of the pressure off.”
The online fundraiser for Rebecca added: “She was a beautiful, amazing mum to her little boy Bradley, a loving sister, auntie, daughter, and friend who would [have] done anything for anyone.
“She had a heart of gold with a contagious funny personality. Everyone is still in shock and her family are still coming to terms with it all.”
