Tributes are being paid to the father-of-one after details of his funeral arrangements were announced on Tuesday.

Mr Connolly was an avid biker and a member of Vikings Motorcycle Club, who said their "brother" will always be in their hearts.

"Yesterday evening we lost our brother Gunner in a tragic bike accident," Vikings MC Ireland said in a post on Facebook on Saturday.

"Not our friend. Not another biker. Not a fella we see down the pub. OUR BROTHER !!!

"Our hearts are broken - words fail us right now. Ride Free Gunner - always in our hearts."

Hundreds of people extended their condolences to Mr Connolly's friends and family on the post.

One fellow biker said: "He loved this club! He wore his biker gear with pride and I remember stopping him and asking what did 1% mean and he was so proud to tell me.

"An absolute gent. Touched many hearts and made many people smile. He will not be forgotten! Ride Free Gunner."

A second said: "Just can't believe it....a good neighbour and friend for over 15 years. Rest in peace Mick."

A third added: "Had the pleasure of working with this man over the last few months and honestly couldn’t put into words how much of gentleman he was, may he rest in internal peace, gunner you will be missed by all. Condolences to your close ones and family."

Another person said: "Had the pleasure of knowing Gunner many years ago. A gentleman always. May he rest in peace. Condolences to all his family and friends."
