Tributes have been paid to a police officer on the fourth anniversary of his tragic death.
PC Dave Fields had been responding to an emergency when he died in a head-on crash on December 25, 2017.
The crash occurred on the A57 road in Sheffield, which also led to the death of Lorraine Stephenson, aged 61, who had been a passenger in the other car, as reported by Yorkshire Live.
An inquest held into the tragedy found that the crash occurred as a result of a "combination of factors", including the weather conditions at the time and the speed at which PC Fields, who was aged just 45 at the time of his death, had been travelling.
Marking the anniversary of his death on Christmas Day, the charity Care Of Police Survivors (COPS) posted a tribute to PC Fields.
A spokesperson said: "Remembering PC Dave Fields, South Yorkshire Police, who died on this day in 2017 after a RTC while responding to an emergency call in his police car."
A number of tributes poured in for the officer, with many people leaving blue heart emojis in a nod to the force's colours.
We will remember you PC Dave Fields", said one person.
Another commented: "You will never be forgotten Dave."
