Tributes paid as baby dies after 'taking unwell' sparking Scots cop probe

Tributes have been paid to a baby who died after being "taken unwell" in a Glasgow home.

The tot was rushed to hospital at around 5.05pm yesterday, Saturday, September 26, after cops and paramedics arrived on the scene on Ravelston Street in the Carntyne area of the city.

The child then sadly passed away at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Officers from Police Scotland have launched an investigation into the 'unexplained death'.

Detectives were seen parked outside Ravelston Street where the baby was discovered as enquires continue into the death.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

One neighbour told the Daily Record: "A wee four week old baby died, they just stopped breathing.

"That is why the police van is there, it's awful, really sad."

Tributes have been now pouring in for the tragic baby online.

One person said: "So sad rip little one."

A second person wrote: "Poor wee soul god bless you."

While a forth person added: "Sleep tight little one my thoughts and prayers too all the family such a sad time."

Cops said the death of the baby was being treated as "unexplained".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Ravelston Street in Glasgow at around 5.05pm on Saturday, 26 September, 2020, after a baby had taken unwell.

"The Scottish Ambulance Service attended and the baby was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he sadly later died.

"The death is being treated as unexplained.

"Enquiries are ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
