Tributes were paid this week to a young man who lost his life in a tragic boating accident.
William Brown’s vessel overturned on Loch Snipe, near Coylton, just after 6pm on Sunday.
A major rescue operation was launched just outside the village, but tragically his body was discovered a short time later.
Two helicopters and a number of fire engines, ambulances and police vehicles raced to the fishing loch – which is located about five miles from Ayr on the B742.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue boat was seen scanning the waters.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the boat had overturned on the water and there were no suspicious circumstances.
A full report will be forwarded to the procurator fiscal.
Tributes poured in for William, described as a “cracking boy”.
Kieran McFarlane said: “Still can’t get my head around this. I lost my best mate last night. Never in a million years did I expect this to happen so soon.
“Until we meet again brother– love you.”
Josh Burgess added: “Another one taken far too early! Rest easy Willy.”
