Tributes paid after bodies of two men found inside house near Aberdeen

Police are continuing their investigation into the deaths of two men in a Royal Deeside village.

The men, aged 28 and 44, were found by officers in a house in Swann Place, Ballater, on Friday.

Postmortems are due to take place but sources said the deaths were likely to be drug-related.

The 28-year-old man has been named locally as Kurtis Ewen, while the 44-year-old has been identified only as a man called Chris.

In a tribute on social media, Mahlana Knowles wrote: “Rest in Peace Kurtis. I hope you have found peace. Heaven has gained another angel. You will be so, so missed.”

A neighbour wrote: “RIP Chris. A lovely guy and neighbour. Will be missed.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Friday afternoon, 6 March, 2020, the bodies of two men, aged 44 and 28 years, were discovered within a house in Swann Place, Ballater, Aberdeenshire.

“A post mortem will take place to establish the exact cause of their death which at this time police are treating as unexplained. Enquiries are continuing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
