Tributes paid to man found dead on street in 'unexplained' circumstances

Tributes were paid after a man was found dead near a city centre hostel.

Officers were contacted at around midnight, on August 13, after reports a man had been found at the junction of Leeds Street and Vauxhall Road.

The man sadly died a short time later.

The street near the YMCA building was cordoned off while forensics officers made their enquiries. A large blue tent was also put up.

YMCA Liverpool & Sefton confirmed the man was not from its Leeds Street service, which looks after vulnerable homeless people and those with complex needs.
