Tributes flow for well-known 'lovely fella' who worked in Walkinstown barber shop

Tributes have poured in after the death of a "lovely gentleman" from Walkinstown.

Paul Kennedy passed away on Monday "surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of Mill Lane Manor Nursing Home" in Naas.

Mr Kennedy was a well-known and popular member of the community, who many knew from the years he worked in Leo's Barbers.

He was a service user of Cheeverstown and a past pupil of St Michael's House.

Many friends and neighbours went online to express their sadness at his passing.

One wrote: "Ah I remember Paul ,grew up with him, lovely fella. Leo's Barber's were very good to him. Rest In Peace Paul."

Another said: "He was a lovely man,the banter between him and Dave in Leo’s was great to watch. RIP Paul."

A third wrote: "I'm shocked of hearing the sad news about Paul. I knew him well when I was working for Leo's barbers. RIP Paul never forget you."

A fourth said: "R.I.P. Paul always remember him walking around Walkinstown."

Mr Kennedy's funeral mass will take place on Friday at 11.30am in St Agnes Church, Crumlin Village followed by burial in Palmerstown Cemetery.
