Tributes flow for 'beautiful, lovely' Dublin mum-of-four Nuala Grant mowed down by van in horror Raheny crash

Tributes have been flowing in for tragic mum-of-four Nuala Grant who was fatally mowed down by a van in a horror Dublin crash on Wednesday night.

The mum in her 30s was out jogging at around 7pm when the vehicle mounted the footpath on James Larkin Road, Raheny hitting Nuala and despite efforts from emergency services, she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Those who knew the child social worker from Bettyglen said that she was a lovely, beautiful lady with many keeping her husband and four children in their thoughts and prayers.

Neidin Fagan said: "Absolutely heartbreaking. She was a beautiful lady, sending all love to her family and friends may she RIP."

 

Marie Farrell added: "Such a lovely woman. I have a very heartbroken daughter today. RIP Nuala, thinking of the family."

Sabrina Peyton commented: "Rest in peace Nuala, thinking of your husband, children and family and friends."

It is understood the van was driven onto the scenically shared walkway and cycleway - which is popular among cyclists and joggers - and travelled down the path for around 1km before hitting the tragic mother-of-four.

A large number of emergency services and as many as 35 Gardai attended the scene on Wednesday and it is understood that the man driving the van was uninjured in the crash.

Funeral details for Ms Grant have been announced as she will be laid to rest on Saturday.

A post on RIP.ie reads: "Grant, Nuala (née Minnock) Raheny, March 4th 2020 (Tragic and sudden). Loving wife of Gordon and adored mother to Aoibhe, Fionn, Seán and Emer.

"Deeply missed by her loving family, her parents Brendan and Maura, brother Paul, sisters Niamh and Ciara, parents-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

"Reposing in her family home tomorrow, Friday, 6th March, from 6pm to 8pm.
