Donore Boxing Club has announced that it has closed its doors this week following the sudden passing of its Club President Derek Rice's son Derek Junior.
Taking to social media last night, the club wrote: "Due to the sudden passing of our Club President Derek Rice's son Derek Junior our club will be closed for the rest of the week.
"Our deepest condolences to Derek at this very sad time. Were all here for you Derek."
Meanwhile, tributes have poured in for Derek Junior, who has been described as "a loving, loyal friend."
One social media user wrote: "Rip Derek Jr. My thoughts & prayers are with Derek & his family."
A second person wrote: "Derek, you were a loving, loyal friend. Rest in Peace mate."
A third user wrote: "Such very sad news god bless him and his partner, thinking over his dad Derek and family."
